5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where laws such as the European Economic Area General Data Protection Regulation, the United Kingdom GDPR, or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
-
Contract: Processing necessary to accept, fulfill, deliver, return, or refund an order or provide requested customer support.
-
Legitimate interests: Operating and improving our business, preventing fraud, maintaining security, responding to customers, measuring performance, and protecting our legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
-
Consent: Sending certain marketing communications and using non-essential advertising or analytics cookies where consent is required.
-
Legal obligation: Maintaining legally required records, responding to lawful requests, complying with tax and consumer-protection obligations, and addressing security incidents.
-
Legal claims: Establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
6. Shopify
Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify provides the ecommerce infrastructure used to display products, operate checkout, process orders, support payment services, prevent fraud, maintain security, and provide related commerce features.
Shopify generally processes customer information on our behalf as a processor or service provider for core store functions. Depending on the Shopify services and settings enabled for our store, Shopify may also process information for its own purposes or as a separate controller or business.
If Shopify Network Intelligence or other Enhanced Services are enabled, Shopify may use information concerning your interactions with our store, Shopify, and other Shopify merchants to help provide fraud prevention, analytics, personalization, advertising, measurement, and other enhanced commerce services. These activities may involve information being processed in countries other than your own.
Certain advertising uses may constitute “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. You may exercise available opt-out rights through our Your Privacy Choices page described below.
For additional information, review:
Privacy requests concerning information we control should be submitted to CottonMire. Shopify may separately provide choices for information it processes as an independent controller.
7. Advertising and Measurement — AppLovin
We may use advertising and measurement services provided by AppLovin Corporation (“AppLovin”) to promote CottonMire, measure campaign performance, attribute conversions, prevent advertising fraud, and optimize advertising.
When an AppLovin pixel, API, script, cookie, or other integration is enabled, AppLovin may receive or collect information such as:
-
IP address, HTTP header information, browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate location.
-
Cookie identifiers, advertising identifiers, user identifiers, and advertising preferences.
-
Advertisement views, clicks, referral information, and interactions with advertisements.
-
Product views, searches, cart activity, checkout events, purchases, order value, currency, and conversion events.
-
Purchasing or browsing history associated with the advertising service.
-
Email address, telephone number, city, state, country code, or five-digit ZIP code where lawfully provided and configured for advertising measurement or matching.
We do not intend to provide AppLovin with complete payment-card information, account passwords, precise GPS location, protected health information, or other sensitive personal information.
AppLovin may combine information received through its advertising services with other information available to it and its advertising partners to provide measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, campaign optimization, and interest-based advertising. AppLovin and some of its advertising partners may act as independent controllers of the information they process.
Where required by law, non-essential AppLovin pixels, cookies, scripts, or similar technologies will not be enabled until the required consent has been obtained. Consent may be withdrawn through the available cookie or privacy controls.
Our disclosure of identifiers, commercial information, and internet activity to AppLovin for personalized advertising may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws, even though we do not sell personal information for money.
For more information about AppLovin’s collection and use of your information, visit: https://legal.applovin.com/privacy/.

You may still receive non-personalized advertisements after opting out of interest-based advertising.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, APIs, local-storage technologies, and similar tools.
These technologies may be used for:
-
Strictly necessary purposes: Cart functionality, checkout, payment processing, account access, fraud prevention, security, and network management.
-
Functional purposes: Remembering preferences, region, language, and other selections.
-
Analytics purposes: Understanding store performance, traffic, errors, and customer interactions.
-
Advertising purposes: Measuring campaigns, attributing conversions, limiting repeated advertisements, and providing interest-based advertising.
Where required by law, analytics and advertising technologies are disabled until you provide consent. You can use the cookie banner or other privacy controls made available on the website to provide, refuse, or withdraw consent.
Browser settings may also allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Services, including the cart or checkout, from functioning correctly.
9. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.
However, our use of Shopify Enhanced Services, AppLovin, and other advertising technologies may involve disclosure of identifiers, commercial information, approximate location, and internet or network activity to advertising and measurement partners. Applicable U.S. state laws may define these activities as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising.
You may opt out through:
-
Emailing customer@cottonmire.com
-
A legally recognized browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by applicable law and supported by our privacy technology.
Browser-level choices generally apply to the browser and device from which the choice is submitted. If you clear cookies or use another browser or device, you may need to submit the choice again.

We may send transactional communications concerning orders, payments, shipping, returns, refunds, security, or customer-service requests.
Where permitted by law, we may also send promotional emails when you have requested or consented to them. You may unsubscribe through the link included in a promotional email or by contacting customer@cottonmire.com.
Unsubscribing from promotional messages does not prevent us from sending non-promotional communications concerning an order, account, legal notice, or customer-service request.
